Who We Are
Our Mission
His mission must be our mission. When you boil it all down, this is what Jesus told us to be about in Matthew 22:37-40 & Matthew 28:18-20.
LEADING PEOPLE TO…
GROW a transforming relationship with Jesus
CONNECT in community with one another
SHARE Jesus with all of the world
Our values shape the kind of culture we want to have as a church. They are what we pray about, plan for, give our best effort to, and celebrate. All of these values are modeled by the early church believers in the book of Acts and are Biblical principles for us to live out as we complete the mission Jesus gave us.
Cultivate a culture of worship and prayer
Equip each believer to serve others in their spiritual gifts
Teach the Word of God as the ultimate source of truth for life
Develop small groups as a necessary environment for life change
Multiply new disciples, new leaders, new ministries, new churches
Send people to share Jesus in word and action: locally, regionally, and globally
Immanuel Church is part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance whose vision is to take All of Jesus to All of the World. It began as a small movement of Christians led by A.B. Simpson in 1887 to preach Jesus as our Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King, and to complete His Great Commission. It now has grown into a movement of 6.3 million Christians in over 24,500 churches worldwide. In the United States, the Alliance has over half a million believers in 2,000 churches. Immanuel Church is part of a regional cluster of Alliance churches referred to as the Eastern PA District.
Our church anchors ourselves upon the rock solid teachings of God’s Word. The statement of faith articulates the essential doctrines we believe and agree upon as a church family.
Ministry Staff
Steve Wiggins
Lead Pastor
Steve came to Immanuel in January 2015 after serving for many years as a youth pastor and discipleship pastor. Steve attended Toccoa Falls College, where he met his wife Lisette. After graduation, the Wiggins moved to Chicago where Steve attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, then they served for 12 years in Ohio. Living around the Great Lakes turned Steve into a Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Ohio State sports fan. Steve likes traveling, playing whatever sport his body will still let him do, and hanging out with his four boys.
Duane Stine
Associate Pastor
Duane has been part of Immanuel Church all of his life. He met Sue, his wife-to-be, in fourth grade when her family started to attend Immanuel. Duane graduated from Penn State with an Engineering degree, and then went on to start and run an engineering company before being called into fulltime vocational ministry. He has served seven years at Immanuel and seven years at the Eastern Pa District office before returning to Immanuel in 2021 for round two! Duane loves building things and serving others in practical ways.
James Connolly
Youth & Outreach Pastor
James came to Immanuel in August of 2019 after 7 years as a Youth Pastor in another part of Pennsylvania. James was born in Texas, but lived most of his life in Belair, Maryland where he met his wonderful wife, Laura. James loves Pittsburgh teams and is a die-hard Steelers and Penguins fan. He earned a pastoral ministry degree at the University of Valley Forge. James likes a little bit of coffee in his creamer, enjoys outdoor activities and is passionate about student ministry.
Brett Warner
Intercultural Ministries Pastor
Brett came to Immanuel in August 2022 after finishing up his Bachelors in Cross-Cultural Adult Education at Toccoa Falls College. Originally from North Carolina, he is a southern boy at heart and likes his tea sweet but his coffee dark. He is passionate about seeing people come into fuller experience of Jesus and loves learning about different cultures. He enjoys hiking, learning random phrases in other languages, card games, and just being around people.
Patricia Schimp
Kids Ministry Coordinator & Office Admin
Patricia and her husband Tim contribute much to the life of Immanuel Church. Her passion for seeing people led to the Lord and fulfill their full potential in Jesus is contagious! Patricia reads “Anne of Green Gables” each year on vacation, prefers her coffee “black as night,” and defines her ideal date night as sharing Alaskan king crab legs and stuffed flounder with her husband at Moe’s Crab and Pasta Factory.
Lisette Wiggins
Office & Worship Admin
Lisette joined the Immanuel staff in 2020 to work in the church office on Mondays and oversee the worship ministry. Her passion is to see people transformed by encountering the power and presence of God in their life. In her free time, you will find Lisette drinking good coffee, curled up under a blanket reading a book, or cheering on her kids in their sports competitions.
